About
Curney Lin is a Taiwanese film composer whose vibrant and versatile scores span genres including drama, romance, comedy, sci-fi, animation, action, horror, fantasy, and historical films. Her work has been showcased at prestigious venues such as the Barbican Centre, the Courtauld Gallery, and the National Gallery, as part of music–art collaborations that connect film, animation, and visual media. She has collaborated with directors, film and animation schools, and galleries including the London Film Academy, Queen Mary University, MET Film School, the London College of Arts, Maryland Institute College of Art, and Central Saint Martins.

Her music has been recorded by the Guildhall Session Orchestra for film and animation works, and in March 2025 was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, under the mentorship of Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman, marking a major milestone in her professional journey.

Curney’s expertise extends beyond film composition into orchestration, conducting, mixing, and recording. Her versatility allows her to move fluidly between orchestral music, electronic music, jazz and pop, enriching her film scoring with both classical and contemporary influences. She has participated in numerous competitions and has been recognized with awards for her outstanding performances, reflecting her dedication to musical excellence.
Her musical journey began in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where she was born in 2003. Starting piano and electone studies at the age of five through Yamaha group lessons, she later pursued one-to-one instruction after moving to Australia. Returning to Taiwan, she expanded her training to include composition and electone with Mrs. Chia-Hui Fang and Ms. Yun-Yen Ho, and piano with Mrs. I-Chen Chen.
Curney graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Electronic Music – Film Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is currently pursuing her Master of Music in New Media (Film and Game Scoring) at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. With a multifaceted background, she continues to bring her unique blend of creativity, skill, and passion to every project she undertakes.
